Hear the Cactus Wren

Cactus Wren

The cactus wren is the state bird of Arizona.  It was chosen as the state bird because the first choice of roadrunner had already been claimed by New Mexico.  Subsequently, the cactus wren was then picked at random.

The cactus wren gets its name from its diet, which almost exclusively consists of cactus.

There are relatively few other points of interest for this bird.
