Desert Cottontail Rabbit

The Desert Cottontail Rabbit is the most abundant rabbit in the Sonoran Desert.  They are found primarily in lowland desert and grow to be up to 17 inches long.  They feed on grasses and shrubs.  Not only are they exceptionally cute, but the Desert cottontail also makes a superb slow-cooked stew.
